BURBERRY TRENCH W/LINER ($895):  Classic trench with a hood and zip-in liner.  You could get one for less, but will it last you forever?  Misses sizes 2-16.  Beige or black.

SCARF

GAP SCARF ($29): How to tell if your scarf is current or out-of-date?  Look at the fringe.  On this scarf, the fringe is short and frayed.  Your out-of-date pashmina (and mine) has a long fringe.  Now you know!  This one is inexpensive and in a very current print:  leopard!

RAINBOOTS

SPERRY SHORT WEDGE RAINBOOT ($65):  Fashion-conscious rain boot works perfectly for short trips from transport to the office.  Misses sizes 7-10.  Black only.

HUNTER ORIGINAL TALL RAINBOOTS ($125):  I've been a big fan of these boots ever since Kate Moss wore them at Glastonbury.  They just look cool.  And they do what they are supposed to do -- keep your feet dry.  Pair them with the matching sock liners ($40) for ultimate comfort.  Misses sizes 5-11 in 7 colors.  I love Navy to go with jeans for a seamless, lengthening silhouette.
